[Estimated reading time: <1 minute] Almost every Friday morning for the last 10 years, my friend Catee and I have gotten on the phone and read each other what we’ve written that morning. It is quite amazing to us both that we have sustained this ritual over the years, what with all the pulls of life: my divorce, her retirement, moves, travels, and all the rest. We met in Colorado, not far from the Four Corners, in a program with the Animas Valley Institute. It was a hot August day. As soon as I saw a little body of water, I stripped down and jumped in. Catee was already splashing about. We were souls sisters immediately. The point here is that I look forward to the regularity, the refuge, and, truth be told, that 25-minutes of writing on Friday mornings has been my most consistent writing this last decade. I come to the page open, willing, ready to listen. Because I know Catee will too.
Our Habits of Yes and No
